svt_god
Okay, 1st off I know I dont have many post. But I'm not a complete noob here. I've kinda hung around in the darkness reading and searching. I have built 2 Dell PCs in OSx86 machines without any problems, or if I had problems I could come here and search and fix it. As well as a HP laptop (AMD Processor) and all is good. Now to my problem. I built a new PC and here are the Specs AMD Athlon II 435 (1st) AMD Phenom II 945 (now) Biostar A770E3 6gb Patriot DDR3 1TB Hitachi HDD ATI 3850 Video card. I first installed iDeneb 10.5.8 lite all went well, had some trouble out of the Audio Kext, but no big deal. Rand great, and used it this was for a while. I then swapped the Athlon II for a Phenom II 945 now evertime I boot to OSx86 it gets a kernal panic... So I thought I'd reinstall iDeneb 10.5.8 Lite. When I boot from the DVD it counts down to start the install hits 1 then reboots, like another panic. Now I'm not sure, but I might have changed something in the bios, but I am stuck. The System runs windows 7 great, but will not boot OSx86 install dvd or boot to the Partition thats already there.... Any ideas?

mgayle4
I have the same mobo and your 1st processor. The install distro I used sucessfully was the Hazard Client/Server (10.6.2 i think), ran the 10.6.4 update, and then installed the new legacy kernel before rebooting. On install configuration I think I selected the blackknight kernel but another might work better for you as some of them mention Phenom in the notes, i selected the AMD patch/bootloader combo, i used the realtek 1000 kext (this may not be the right ethernet kext but I get online and download with decent speeds and am unwilling to break my system at this point by trying another kext.) Other configuration options are where my memory fails me. I am new to osx86 and did not keep detailed notes of my build, but am working to reconstruct my methods. My next step is to figure out how to make a complete backup of my system so that I can attempt tweaks without losing all my work. MG
