TheEther
I have an HP 8510w Laptop that I have 10.6.4 loaded. Everything works pretty well except it runs hot as heck. I've been researching but having trouble finding the correct kext/s to correct the issue. I triple boot my laptop. Windows and Linux run MUCH cooler. Any direction you could point me in would be great. I've already tried the latest VooDooPowerMini kext which seemed to help, but it's nowhere NEAR as cool a my other os'es. It's burn your nuts hot. I've tried CPU-X which shows the CPU info but the clock speed doesnt change no matter if it's plugged in or not and everything is closed. It acts as if speedstep isnt working at all, but I'm not sure if the speedstep kext is right for my chipsets. For Reference at what I've done: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=222431 Thanks in advance Ether.. mdnz01
Remove nullcpupowermanagement.kext if you want to have speedstep.
