carlos228
I tried to update to 10.6.4 from 10.6.3 on my DELL Vostro 3700 (i5) today ( downloaded combo update ). update & restart works well but I lost network connection partially: I still can access the internet but I can´t access my local network / LAN , p.e. my desktop mac on 192.168.0.20 . Message: ------- Connection Failed / There was an error connecting to the server "192.168.0.20". Check the server name or IP address, and then try again ------- I still get vnc connection (screen sharing) to and from my desktop machine and I still can LAN access the laptop from my desktop machine. The VNC back-channel / response (vostro -> desktop machine) is very slow. Its also possible to access an apache running on my 192.168.0.20 machine from the laptop (localhost 127.0.0.1) via browser (Safari : http://192.168.0.20). Preference Pane / Network still shows good ( IP (Vostro) = 192.168.0.23, Subnet = 255.255.255.0 , Router = 192.168.0.1 , all there ). I also tried to boot -x / save mode but makes no difference any Idea out there? many thanks!
crazyJAT
I am also having this issue on an Asus K8V-SE-Deluxe. On 10.6.0, everything worked fine. After updating to 10.6.5, I am unable to connect to AFP of SMB servers. Internet activity works fine though. Any ideas?
