eoveem
Hi there. I recently upgraded from my Asus G50-vt (running Snow Leopard perfectly) to a G60-jx and I've been having a few problems. Firstly, I installed using a retail 10.6.0 disc and Empire EFI, I only modified the osinstalls. It installs OK, but when it gets to the very end, it says a problem occurred and that OS X can't be installed. It seems fine after I reboot though. So now most of my kexts work except the video card. To get it working, I need to update to 10.6.3 for the macbook pro software update. The problem is, whenever I try that, it gets a kernel panic, combo or not, and I can only restart in single user mode. I figure this could be because I'm still booting with Empire EFI, so I try installing chameleon RC3 (with the pkg) to use my dsdt.aml and what not, but that says there's an error while installing as well. I did find another version which installs fine (RC2 perhaps?), but after I select the partition while booting, it just restarts immediately after the apple logo. My main hardware is: -Intel i5-430m 2.26GHz -4gb DDR3 -Nvidia GeForce GTS 360m -500gb SATA (installed onto 60gb primary HFS+ partition) I'm close to just giving up for a while, so I figured I'd ask around on these forums for help. Thanks!
