ok guys..here's a good one...

Using 10.4.6 JaS on a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4014. The chipset is Intel 945. Everthing is working except wireless and USB (with working USB I will have wireless).

I'm using a USB wireless mouse so I know my USB ports work, but when I plug in a USB 2.0 device (such as a flash drive or wireless adapter) Tiger will not see it. All I get in Profiler is the USB Buses and my mouse. I have searched high and low in the forums. I've tried the Apple developer USB updates and I have toggled Legacy USB support on/off in the BIOS. I installed the 10.4.3 IOUSBFamily.kext during installation.

Any ideas?

What build are you using? I used JaS 10.4.6 - it installs nativly but when I tried to install in VMware I would get a kernal panic and the virtual machine would just reboot.

This worked for me, seems there is a problem with upgrading from 10.4.6 to 10.4.7, if you go to the Apple developer site they have the USB 2.0 drivers availible in a package you can download and install. Like I said mine works now after installing that package.

I have plugged in a flash drive (Cruzer Mini) and it is recognised - i.e. shows up in the system profiler. But I cannot get it to mount as a disk? In red-hat I had to mount /dev/(something)? Any ideas? It looks like the system knows what it is, but I want to have access to it in finder? Motherboard is Asus A8V-E Delux
