pp611
body { background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0px; padding: 4px; font-family: Verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; } Poasted before as a X3100 related issue. Maybe it is more general. Hope some one can help. I've never been this close. So, please... Lenovo U110 with a GMX3100 card with Device ID: 0x2a02 Revision ID: 0x0003. Installed the Snow Leopard's DVD prepared by Hazard and updated to 10.6.3. In 10.6.2. both 64-bit and 32-bit drriver does not work, can only work the stock VGA driver. In 10.6.3, there is no 64-bit driver. 32-bit driver can only boot with an external monitor attached. Both the laptop LCD (1368x768, with CharredPC's display override method applied) and exernal LCD works fine (it goes even to 1920x1080). After boot, the external monitor can be removed and laptop LCD works fine. When boot without the external monitor the system gets into a gray screen and hangs. Attach the external monitor won't help. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/215444-display-only-boot-with-an-external-monitor/ Share on other sites
pp611
Kind of solved. When the screen comes up in gray, type fn+F3 made the display work properly. Not really fixed the problem, but I am fine with it for now.
