Piterek12
If you have a Celeron processor you will have to install legacy kernel. And don't forget to install new version of SleepEnabler(for more info search in netkas blog) Maybe AppleHDA.kext may not working. I think its all P.S. Sorry for my English but I'm Polish Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214026-1063/#findComment-1436513 Share on other sites

imacken
Well, no problem with me. Just installed it and no issues at all. I'm still running with only 1 kext in E/E, and that's fakesmc. Everything else works straight from the boot file. IONetworkingFamily and AppleHDA are untouched. gp-se
nice, why is sleepenabler even needed? I have a few kext's but I have no idea what they do, I just followed that guide, I would love to remove unneeded kexts. supersilverpig
Gah. I'm getting a kernel panic. Q6600 EP45-DS3L 7900GS I was running 10.6.1 with dsdt.aml and some kexts in /E/E (can give you a list if required), and everything was fine. I removed sleepenabler.kext, and did a combo update to 10.6.3. The install seemed to go fine, but upon reboot I just get a blue screen. I booted with -v -f and am getting a kernel panic which seems to relate to AppleHDA. Suggestions? List of kexts in /E/E: AppleIntelPIIXATA IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector JMicronATA LegacyHDA NullCPUPowerManagement OpenHaltRestart PlatformUUID RealtekR1000 fakesmc During boot I notice some messages about JMicron and Realtek saying they failed to load, but the boot up proceeds along until it gets to AppleHDA. There are some messages about something failing in AppleHDA something .cpp at line <whatever> and then I get the KP. gp-se
What bootloader are you using? (Maybe you could update your system specs.)What kexts have you got in E/E? using Chameleon RC3, here is what I got in extra: AD1988b.Fix.kext disabler.kext fakesmc.kext IONetworkingFamily.kext jMicronATA.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext SleepEnabler.kext what here do I need, and what can I remove? Am I safe to update to RC4? I heard there was issue's with UUID, if I update will my UUID change? ileikcaek
There is a sleepenabler for 10.6.3 available on http://www.kexts.com/view/318-sleepenabler...810.3.0%29.html I have tested it on my HP Pavilion P6235uk and it works. (Distro iHazards 10.6.2 updated to 10.6.3) Other successes I've had with 10.6.3 which were broken on 10.6.2 Disk Utility Check/Repair Permissions now works - on 10.6.2 it kept coming up with a message about there being no packages for my disk No more blue (or black) screen on boot requiring it to be put into sleep and woken to get the desktop to show. I get the desktop straight away now! I think it now understands what my S-ATA is before it was unknown, now it says Intel 5 series chipset! I think 10.6.3 is running a little warmer for me though, 10.6.2 was idling at about 42 Celsius but 10.6.3 seems a few degrees warmer. I saw it at 58 earlier. probably a non problem. Mac OS X still thinks my processor is a quad core intel xeon but when I used kext utility it said the correct Intel core i5 750 so I'm unsure what that is all about! Only thing I've had to reinstall is the audio for my ALC888s Anyways, I have to say this was a great success for me. imacken
using Chameleon RC3, here is what I got in extra:AD1988b.Fix.kext disabler.kext fakesmc.kext IONetworkingFamily.kext jMicronATA.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext SleepEnabler.kext what here do I need, and what can I remove? Am I safe to update to RC4? I heard there was issue's with UUID, if I update will my UUID change? The thing is, I have no idea what your system is. That is why I suggested you update your signature with that info. Still, I guess your AD1988b is to do with sound, so you will need that, and almost certainly the IONetworkingFamily. Obviously you will need fakesmc. Are you able to boot into something else, e.g. Leo or from a USB drive if something goes wrong? If so, then just try removing OpenHaltRestart, Sleepenabler, and disabler. You can always put them back if things don't work out. There are many variations of RC4 out there. You should try the one in my signature. It fixes many issues directly. Try to find a DSDT for your board that works for you. I only have to use fakesmc and VoodooHDA thanks to some great work on DSDTs by others.
