robertmacallen
Hello, I am sure lots of you are having great fun building a Hackintosh. I only want a good working computer. I think a Mac is a better choice, but an expensive choise. I do not mind getting myself a Hackintosh, but is it stable and does it perform far better than a good new computer with Windows software? When I read all the posts here I doubt I want to have all those troubles. Who gives me an answer? Thanks Robert Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/209159-should-i-do-it/ Share on other sites

I can almost guarantee that there will be some sort of hitch on your hackintosh at some point. The person who creates one must have patience and persistence in order to get it working correctly. Keep in mind that apple updates CAN break your install, so you must be mindful. If you haven't had much computer experience in general, I would HIGHLY suggest either doing loads and loads of research before even attempting this, or if not just save your money and buy the real deal. I'm not trying to discourage you, but it doesn't sounds like you know too much about this yet. I would take a couple weeks and make google and this forum your absolute best friend, then decide. After this if you still think you want to go this route, come back with a more specific question on your build. P.S. As for speed, depending on the hardware you choose, your hack can absolutely fly! Just takes some patience. My first hackintosh took me about 4 or 5 reinstalls before I got it perfect. This is true. it took me bunches of reinstalls to get mine running properly now that i have everything runs perfect. Has some small quirks but nothing im worrying about at all. Do your homework, research hardware and peripherals and make a final choice. titanmdm
You may want to look into the "Lifehacker" build. That way there would be many people to help you out who have the exact same hardware.
