danerd100
I posted the same topic in the Snow Leopard installation forum because I dont know where the problem is occuring. Hey guys and gals, When I install Snow Leopard using the retail dvd (restored to a partition) and a modified OSInstall.mpkg, I get a kernel panic (image attached, sorry for low res, readable though, if you need more, i can get another picture). Im assuming this is a Leopard problem? I am using iPC 10.5.6 on my system. Lord_Jeremy
Looks like you've opened System Profiler in the background? AFAIK that app can sometimes reveal problems by way of Kernel Panic. Does this KP occur even when System Profiler isn't open? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206711-kernel-panic/#findComment-1382854 Share on other sites
danerd100
No, System profiler is not open, that's the disk utility simply because I didnt close it that time. Yes, it happens when the only thing running is the installer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206711-kernel-panic/#findComment-1382908 Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
This could be another problem in disguise. The KP mentioning your AppleNForceATA kext could indicate that it's having problems copying files. I've heard of issues where files could not be copied over a certain size. Is there any way you could test this? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206711-kernel-panic/#findComment-1383822 Share on other sites
