Philipp W.
Hey there, I got a problem with my Snow Leopard on my Dell 5150 Desktop. My configuration: Intel Pentium D (2,8 GhZ) ATI HD2600XT 1.5 GB Ram 500 GB HDD I installed Snow Leopard on a second partition with the OSinstal.mpkg and everything went fine. I installed chameleon rc3 on the SL partition, replaced the old kernel with the custom mach_kernel (My CPU is not Vanilla compatible) and tried to boot. For a second, there was an apple but after that: Kernel Panic. Please help! What can I do? What dit I forgot? Thanx a lot, phil Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/205497-kernel-panic-help-needed/ Share on other sites
ntsmkfob
If you google AppleIntelPIIXATA, you'll find out a lot about your KP and how to get round it. Philipp W.
Oh thanks. Should I leave the original mach_kernel on the SL partition and the legacy_kernel as second kernel or shall I rename the legacy_kernel to mach_kernel and replace it with the original untouched mach_kernel? And where to put the kexts? In the Extra Folder or in S/L/E?
