kevin1
Hi, today I just installed darwin 8.0.1 and then I rebooted my computer (PC) and I booted from Hard Drive. But I had problems. When it was in the mode where there was a black backround and white text, first it went through all the code then the last part of code said: login: So I typed my username (which is kevin) Then it said: Password: Then I typed in my password Then it said: Welcome to Darwin! [kevin:~] kevin% But I got stuck there because I didn't know what to type. So can anyone please help me and tell me what to type there. Thanks, Kevin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20396-problems-logging-in/ Share on other sites
nothingness
Well what more were you expecting ? Darwin is a text only system by default, you landed in the console shell. From there you can do just about anything a unix system can. Go and install fink or darwin ports or something, and get X11 so you can have a nice graphical desktop (but nothing like Aqua). Read unix/linux stuff to work out want you want to do.
