TRN4L
I want to install OSX and dual boot with windows. I already have windows installed and dont want to loose any data on the drive. The problem is I read that OSx doesnt install on SATA drives. I already installed windows to the normal drive, and the 2nd drive thats empty is the SATA. What do you suggest that I do? what would be the simplest and most direct way to get a native install? EncodedProcess83
to get the native install in, use the blender/broadband patch. sata drives are usually recognized with the patch in place. if the installer doesnt recognize the drive, use the disk utility to reformat it into the hfs file system. take careful note of the amount of space on the drives, so you can tell the difference of the two drives during the install. TRN4L
Well i read in the pinned topic at the top it doesnt support the NForce SATA, which is what i have, so my next question is can i transfer my windows install to the SATA drive, without having to re-install it. TRN4L
sorry to double post on the top, just wanted to say that i got the install and dual boot working great, i had to transfer windows to the SATA drive via cloning, and then install osX on the ata drive. I still have a big little problem in that the keyboard doesnt work, its a really simple simple 5$ keyboard thats PS/2. NOTHING works on it under osx and i cant install anything cause i can get past the registration without the keyboard! any ideas?
