I installed iAtkos v7 on my acer aspire one A150. The install was pretty smooth, but I am having two problems.

The first is: It takes about 5 minutes to boot up. It runs very slow. The acer model I have has 1 gb ram and a 160gb HD. I thought maybe it was the software, so I installed it on an older Compaq Presario with 512mb ram and it runs quick and looks good.

The second is: I have to enter cpus=1 at the bootup, or it hangs at the apple logo screen. With cpus=1 it boots everytime. Is there a fix for this? Does this have anything to do with my above problem?

I appreciate your time and help on this. I have been searching for 2 days for a fix, but can't find anything. Everyone says it runs just as quick as XP for them. Thanks alot in advance!

Hi Joe.

For the cpus=1 command you can change the boot settings in the "terminal" of OSX.

How to do that is explained on the following page, chapter C.

For the slow boot:

I had the same problem and did the reboot several times. It now boots fast. But it seems that when you install a larger program (Like Office for mac) the next boot can take up to five minutes. After it has been completed just reboot the machine once more... You'll notice a faster boot.

To get everything working smooth I installed iAtkos several times. So take your time in this and see it as a hobby and not as something you just do in half an hour.

Thanks for the info. It is definately a learning experience, and I like that. The amount of time to get it working right doesnt bother me at all, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing. Thanks again for your help, i am going to reinstall it again.
