Hello group, i just received my broadcom wifi module to replace the default ralink in my asus eee 1000h.

It shows up in the list as airport device, i can connect to wifi accesspoints in my neighbourhood but it does not see my own accesspoint which i find very strange.

Are there restrictions, i have a draytek vigor 2820vn which is setup in compatibility mode to support b/g/n wifi and i use a mac access list, which i disabled for testing.

It just does not show up in the list of availlable networks, tried to sit next to it doesn't see it.

if i manually try to connect by specifying the name the connection times out.

anyone seen this behaviour, driving me nuts since it does work on the not so protected accesspoint of my neighbours.

Michel

Probably a dumb question, but is SSID broadcast on or off? If it's off, it wouldn't be visible. Also might want to try switching channels (just in case the card is blind to your current one) and maybe testing it in G-only mode (if it has that).
