lunchandamovie
Okay, okay. Not to treat you guys like a crisis hotline but help please! I got XP on my disk0s2, OSx86 on disk0s3 and a FAT32 on disk0s1 When partitioning, i kinda screwed up, because i got a nice little "Master Boot Record Error" upon reboot I decided to install OS X because the partitioning was successful, and i am running it now (10.4.6) I took some of my files from my XP parition and saved them on OS X just in case i do any damage. I've also got a Vista B2 DVD in my drawer which i installed a few days ago and got rid of it (no glass ) Question: How do i fix the MBR and get xp working again (I don't have a WinXP cd though) OR install Vista and leave my OS X partition untouched? ellioT
hrmm, only way i can think of off hand to fix your MBR is with an xp cd, go to recovery console and type "fixmbr" I am triple booting XP, Vista and OSX by using the chain0 method in the xp boot.ini, so now in the vista boot menu it shows all 3. You could try installing vista, cause that will replace the MBR and give you a boot menu with "older version of windows" AND "windows", windows being Vista. Then use the chain0 method of getting it to boot to your OSX partition. Hope that helps, eL
