I've been searching for something relevant for about an hour and got nothing, so here it goes.

After searching, I've seen a few people using the Intel D955XBK motherboard, with Pentium D's. With that in mind, I started installing OSX 10.5.7 with the iDeneb. It goes through the install perfect, and then goes into an infinite boot loop.

I've been messing around with the customization settings, but as of now can't seem to get the magic settings. Anyone have a descent starting point for getting this to work?

By the way, I'm using hot swap hard drives to swap between Windows and OSX just by swapping out hard drives if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

Be sure to install and use a voodoo kernel (or some other patched kernel - not the vanilla). Otherwise system will not boot. Like

-v mach_970

to boot the voodoo v9.7.0 kernel

Also may try another Install DVD. Some older like Kalyway 10.5.1/10.5.2

OK, so I've gotten past the reboot loop issue, and I've graduated to freezing on the gray boot screen.

In the beginning it says the following:

Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 - Chameleon v1.0.12

Build date: 2008-11-16 16:57:57

2046mb memory

VESA v3.0 16mb (ATI ATOMBIOS)

starting hibernate

bad sleepimage header signature

hibernate failed

loading Darwin/x86

After it starts it, it then freezes.

body { background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0px; padding: 4px; font-family: Verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; } So after some trial and error, I got it!

I did a factory optimum settings on the BIOS and then made some changes I wanted. Instead of using RAID on SATA contorller, I'm using IDE settings, and I have it set to Last State if power goes out. Other than that it's pretty much the way it was set.

Finally, I used the Voodoo kernel (Thanks Das!) and updated Chamelien to 2.0. My video (X1600PRO) Ethernet, and Audio all work pefect!

So it's now confirmed: The Intel Desk Board D955XBK is officaly compatible with OSX 10.5.7!
