Una
I downloaded iPC 10.5.6 Final version, burnt it normally, and tried to boot with it. When I boot with -v, it just hangs with the "Still Waiting for Root Device" message. I have a Compaq Presario V2570NR laptop. Configurations are AMD Turion 64 ML-32 Motherboard:Quanta 3093 2048MB of RAM ATI MOBILITY RADEON XPRESS 200M I have a unallocated 15GB of hard drive that I partitioned from my main drive. I'm trying to dual boot Windows 7 and Mac OS X. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196446-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites

mmhardky
Try an external DVD drive. I got the same message with HP DV5 with iDeneb. The solution was to boot with iDeneb in the internal drive and after the "still waiting for root device" message, eject the DVD and put it into an external DVD drive (that was connected the whole time). This worked for me, although it sounds strange.
