DDServiced is the Drobo Dashboard background daemon. I'm not entirely sure why it'd be asking for a hole in the firewall, unless it's for outbound connections when checking for updates... Are you updated to the latest version (1.6.1)?

Update: Apparently there are issues with the latest 1.6.1 with DDServiced using more system resources than necessary. I've seen CPU-hogging on my 10.6 machine.

Hello,.. Does anyone have anything further to add on this?

Although I don't see a notable slowdown, the DDServiced is constantly accessing from a small collection of ip addresses:

10.0.1.255

10.37.129.255

10.211.55.255

129.199.201-77.rev.gaoland.net

169.254.1.0

(isn't LittleSnitch nice? :-)

p.s.

BrittonBK mentions DDServiced cpu-hogging here: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10734464
