silentnoise1
I've installed iPC 10.5.6 on my machine with the following specs. XFX 790i Ultra motherboard QX9770 Dou 2 Quad Core Extreme 3.2 8GB 2000mhz SLI ram 3x9600 T2D1G video cards (extra sound card) Sound Blaster Pro..... Various input devices. I have everything working correctly, but the processor. For some reason when I click on "About this Mac" via "Apple". It displays as "Processor 200MHz Unknown". I know that I am getting close if not all the performance I can out of the full 3.2 quad cores. However some of the programs I work with will not install or run because of this problem. I have googled this for awhile, with no luck. Briefly skimmed over the forums here. Was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Beerkex'd
Install CPUInjector.kext. If you see something about needing to modify it before installing it, don't worry, it comes pre-configured for a Quad Core CPU. silentnoise1
negative. Used the only CPUInjector.kext I could find for 10.5, even used a few 10.6's. Still reads 200 MHz. I even opened up each kext to make sure that it had the AQU= (i think thats what it was, was last night). Do I need to upgrade my chameleon, and boot file to get the CPUInjector to work? I'm using what ever came with iPC 10.5.6 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195355-qx9770-1056-help/#findComment-1318928 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
If you're on iPC you probably have a modified AppleSMBIOS.kext or SMBIOS injector installed that's making a mess of things, injecting wrong values. To take back control, find and install a clean, unmodified AppleSMBIOS.kext and delete any SMBIOS injector kexts. Then upgrade to Chameleon RC2 and use an smbios.plist in /extra instead. Visit the VoodooProjects forum and read the Chameleon FAQ and documentation to learn how. CPUInjector.kext does not depend on your bootloader or kernel version as far as I know but I guess wrong smbios injection could interfere with it. Please let me know where you found the CPUInjector.kext compiled for Leopard 10.5, I want to try it on my P4 Hackintosh. I looked all over and I haven't found it yet.
