MatzeOS86
Hello everyone! I've a 100% stable installation of Snow Leopard, but there are few details were I've problems. On of those is the resolution of the bootscreen. I've managed to use a different theme and I added a key and string in the boot.plist to set the resolution to 1920x1200, but it's still at default. The theme is made for this resolution, so this shouldn't be the problem. I've also added a key and string for the timeout, but its at default as well. When I remove the EFI string the resolution is 1920x1200 during and after the boot up. But the timeout still dosn't work. Has anyone the same Problem? I think he ignores the resolution and timeout string, because the EFI string in the same boot.plist works. Matze my best bet is that you are using a DVI or HDMI cable from PC to Monior, if this is the case then there is no need to worry this happens to everyone and even though you have said you want it to boot at this resolution it will just ignore it and there is no solution that i know off , if you are using a VGA cable on the other hand then it will use the resolution that you said you wanted it to be. MatzeOS86
Thanks for the fast reply! You're right, I'm using a DVI Kabel! So now I know why it's not working, but why did it work without the EFI string? It's only a detail, but maybe someone will fix this in a new release of chameleon. And do you know why the timeout doesn't work? It shouldn't matter if there is a VGA cable or a DVI cable, or am I wrong? Termite
sometimes depending on the hardware there is no need to edit anything ie: my Apple Display uses full resolution when booting which is because its using proper legit apple hardware. So yea wait around until someone brings out a fix or something which would be really good cause i love using my 24" HD monitor Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195157-boot-resolution-dosnt-change/#findComment-1315860 Share on other sites
MatzeOS86
Good to know, but I won't buy a new monitor because of the resolution of the bootscreen.
