Pete Rudge
I have a ThinkPad SL500 that I am trying to find a compatable wireless card to work with osx. I have installed iATKOS v.7 and most things work well. The only issues I have not resolved are suspend/sleep, volume buttons, and wireless. I ran into a bios whitelist problem when I tried to install a non-Lenovo card. The #43Y6511 is listed as compatable with the SL500 and is an atheros based card. I know people have posted sucess with Atheros based card. Has anyone had any experience with this card? Will you share any tips? I have one on the way that I bought on eBay. I will post back if I get it to work. Will I have to reinstall or can I load the kexts into an already running system? Thanks for any help. Martin255
Hi, I would be really interested to know if it worked out for you because I am in the same situation (Thinkpad X200s, don't want to use a modified BIOS). In case the card does not work out of the box, have you tried the solutions of these threads ? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=135572 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=138351 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61260 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194842-lenovo-43y6511-atheros-based-mini-pcie-card-tips/#findComment-1346041 Share on other sites
