jpschoute
Hi, i downloaded the iso and got it workin in the end. I have a P4 3.0 Ghz with sse3 support so i choise the option of SSE3 only kernal. When i rebooted, mac booted in a blank screen and rebooted. I have seen somethin in this forum about that prob so i did a standard installation and macosx is installed and works very well. My networkcard was detected right away and it was not so hard to do the resolution trick and make my soundcard work. My question is the following. When i had 10.4.3 on my pc there was kinda lika a ATI RADEON driver which gave blocks and problems while scrolling. I see this things now to so i suspect that driver is installed. Is there no better one available ? And second. In system profiler i see this: Hardware Overview: Machine Name: Apple Development Platform Machine Model: ADP2,1 CPU Type: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 3.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB CPU Features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH DS ACPI MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SS HTT TM EST Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 800 MHz Boot ROM Version: 1103 (American Megatrends Inc.) a pentium with 2 cpu ? and a 3.8 Ghz. it a one cpu 3.0 GHZ. No SSE3 ? i'm sure i got that. so my final question is. Is there a way to install sse3 kernal only and will there be a big performence leap. THX in advance. belgrano
ATI driver --> http://omni.starchaser.org/ Of course, to get rid of that 'blocks and problems while scrolling' (we call that 'mouse tearing') the solution is --> http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...236entry89236 About that 3.8GHz from System Profiler, don't worry, it's just incorrect reported (for everybody ) To replace your kernel, see --> http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11890 About performance improvement, I can't tell you, I don't have a SSE3 cpu. jpschoute
Thx for a all the reactions. there was a patch on the install DVD for SSE3 only but that made my OSX boot in a blank screen and reboot. So i did the standard installation. How can i install SSE3 kernal seperately cause i don't understand the link mentioned above. And will it be a performance boost ? thx in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19461-help-wanted-got-a-few-issues/#findComment-127802 Share on other sites
