But you get a bluescreen of death when you try to install XP or win 7? Why install XP if you already have Win 7? If you're having problems installing XP - wrong forum. If you're having problems installing Windows 7 - wrong forum. I don't think it's EFI somehow... I wasn't going to reply but it's nothing to do with Snow Leopard. Try a Windows forum Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194119-big-problem-i-think-its-efi/#findComment-1311682 Share on other sites

Try a Windows forum first! i have genuine the windows xp 2nd its a netbook the xp is faster from 7 now i have fix it but i have another problem on windows xp im getting hal.dll when im trying to install (p.s i think its because the SNOW leopard requires GUID partition table) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194119-big-problem-i-think-its-efi/#findComment-1312139 Share on other sites
xameleon
first! i have genuine the windows xp2nd its a netbook the xp is faster from 7 now i have fix it but i have another problem on windows xp im getting hal.dll when im trying to install (p.s i think its because the SNOW leopard requires GUID partition table) i have solved my problem with this - boot off the Win7 USB/SB media - click through the first two windows that appear (you will see a message "Setup is starting.." - enter CMD by hitting SHIFT-FN-F10 (or SHIFT-F10) dependent on KB / model - type in: diskpart.exe list disk select disk (your hard drive, should be 0) clean convert GPT create partition EFI size=200 create partition primary size=(size in mb for OSX> (mine was 30000 MB, of a 60 GB HD) create partition primary size=(size in mb for Win7> (mine was 30000 MB, of a 60 GB HD) list partition (a * should appear on the third partition, that's where you will install Win7 later) (at this point you can type "extend" to fill the rest of the drive with any space left over from building the partitions format fs=ntfs quick exit exit after this install snow leopard with format the first partition and after install windows xp without format all work perfect now thx for support Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194119-big-problem-i-think-its-efi/#findComment-1312329 Share on other sites
