Hi everyone,

I managed to get leopard (10.5) working on this mobo quite some time ago so I figured I would try it with snow leopard however I haven't had any success.

I'm following lifehacker's tutorial (with the patch applied to a usb stick) and the installation does not recognise the hard-disk in my computer. In the BIOS there is no setting for me to select ACHI and I feel this could be the issue.

I had a look around the osx86 wiki and came across (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.6.0#Abit) 'Boot EFI 10.2' for a similar mobo to mine (no ACHI support). So I replaced the boot file I had on my usb stick (from lifehacker) with the Boot EFI one, however once I reach the installation it still does not recognise my hard-drive.

People with the IP35Pro Mobo won't have this problem as this can just apply this setting: "> Integrated Peripheral > Onchip Sata Device > Sata Mode > AHCI", I haven't got that option available.

(I tried the usb stick on my laptop and it did recognise the harddrive).

I would appreciate any help, thanks.

I just posted about this very same issue regarding the a mobo for a Dell Inspiron 545. I can't get this install program to recognize my damn HDD either. I've tried every KEXT referring to intel mobos, via mobos, ahci settings and evein IOATA kexts but I've gotten now here so far.

I will keep tirelessly search and I will let you know if I see anything. Please do the same.

Thanks, I appreciate the support.

Did you check the IP35-E thread? They got around the problem somehow..

Thanks very much for the reply.

I tried using terrorist's boot cd (http://3rr0rists.com/macintosh/how-to-install-snow-leopard-retail-in-a-pc.html) with my retail DVD hoping that it might have a few kexts that would help recognise my hard-drive (that were not present in lifehacker's) but it still did not work.

The thread you posted is quite challenging for a newb like me but I will do my best deciphering it - I believe he is creating a second partition whilst in OSX and installing snow leo onto that using terminal? Thanks.
