craaig
Ok, so here's some background: Laptop: GX700 Mobo: ICH8? using 10.5.2 ICHx.kext Wireless: Apple BCM94321MC (Broadcom Chip) Mini-PCIe EFI: Chameleon 2 CPU: JaS SSE2 Patched APIC The wireless card's at 14e4:4328 so it's supported by an unmodified broadcom kext. Airport2 doesn't exist, Airport.framework doesn't exist. Airport and 80211Family are of the same Apple batch. NetPreferences.plist has been deleted and the connection doesn't appear in any form (IOSERVICE:) when rebuilt. The card doesn't appear in System Profiler so something serious is up it seems.. The LED for the wireless is ON. LPCI.text shows the card working and DPCIManager.app also show the same. IOREG shows the card named pci14e4,4328@0 and so does IORegistryExplorer; although, ioreg shows the Device-ID as the wrong number and is listed under a controller called p0p6, which has the device ID of 4528. p0p5 doesn't exist and p0p4 appears to have the 4328 deviceID that i would like my wireless card to have.. I've tried adding 4528 to the broadcom kext, and also the deviceID the card itself was being allocated. So i'm guessing it could be that the wireless card is being allocated p0p6 instead of p0p4 which is where i want it to be. I hear that using a DTGP I could change the deviceIDs in DSDT but i lack the knowledge of DSDT programming to be able to do it. Can someone help me? or has any other ideas? This has been a headache for a few days now! Regards, Craaig. Oh i forgot to mention i updated to 10.5.8 with the voodoo kernel and have been using this for over a month now with no errors. craaig
Just as an update, I've patched my BIOS, reinstalled OSX (yeah ) ideneb 10.5.8, manually inserted a wireless card into the correct port with DSDT which have all failed. I've decided to buy another wireless card so I will post up to let you know. Oh, the wireless card was detected as different deviceIDs with different APICs installed..
