awesomerobot
13" Black Core2Duo Macbook. This is a fun story - so I spend a day at work, where my laptop sat in its bag all day. I come home and take it out, and there's 1" of water in the bottom of my bag. Great. No idea how it happened. So anyway, it doesn't power on - I completely disassemble it, let it dry out overnight, reassemble it - and for a second, get very excited! It turned on! Oh was that excitement short lived. It turns on for a second, and instantly sleeps. It continues booting and if I hit the power button I see the log-in screen for a few seconds, and it goes back to sleep. The battery isn't recognized at all, as I've tried to do this with the battery and without. Honestly, I'd be ok if it just worked on AC, but I don't know what to do. I've tried booting from disk, trying different RAM, resetting the battery sensor (SMC?), and resetting the PRAM to no avail. Can anyone take a stab at what would cause this problem specifically so I can weigh my repair/replace options? I'm assuming it's the motherboard - but any further insight would be fantastic. plugwash
I'd dismantle it again and look for any gunk on circuit boards if you find any clean it up, dry it out and reassemble.
