zampe
So I have FINALLY gotten my hackintosh up and running with snow leopard. I used the SnowOSX Universal 10.6 v3.5 pc distro to get it up and running. I made my own DSDT to solve the BIOS reset issue, edited boot.plist with GFX string so my video card is working and had to disable spotlight for now, it was giving me KPs. Also updated to 10.6.1. Everything seems to be great except now that I am trying to install software (iTunes 9, Logic Studio, Pro Tools LE etc) I am getting kernel panics. It is usually a "installhelper" or "Installd" type error code in the kernel panic and happens right during installation. Please help! Here is my config: Hardware: -GA-EP45-DS3L ATX Motherboard -Intel Q9400 Core2Quad Overclocked to 3.0GHz -8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR2 PC6400 800MHZ 4-4-4-12 RAM -Samsung 22x Dual Layer SATA DVD Burner -evga geForce 8400gs 512mb video card Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188740-snow-1061-good-but-cant-install-any-software/ Share on other sites
