The specs:

Gigabyte G41M-ES2L

Core2Duo E8500 @ 3.16

4GB DDR2-800 (can't remember the brand, but tests out great)

BFG nVIDIA GTS250 OC 1GB DDR3

Linksys wireless card (works OOB in 10.5)

2 Hitachi 1TB SATAII Hard drives

1 Maxtor 300GB SATAII Hard drive

1 Maxtor 160GB SATAII Hard drive

Lite-On IDE DVD-RAM drive

CMedia USB Sound Card (works OOB in 10.5)

I have 10.5.8 running vanilla, absolutely no problems. I have installed SL once semi-successfully, but cannot do it again. It's strange that when I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, I could get it to run, but now I can't get past a kernel panic right at startup. I have unsuccessfully patched a DSDT, tried patching my bios into a DSDT, etc, etc. I keep reading guides as to how to make it work, but I can't seem to get it right. Does anyone else have this board that can give me a few pointers?

When I had SL running, I could get it to boot in 64 bit mode, and it was incredibly fast, detected my video card as a 9800GTX with EFI (yes, I know the GTS250 is a rebadged 9800GTX), even was using it for OpenCL. Someone please help, or point me in the right direction. I've searched, and found writeups, but cannot seem to get it to work following the instructions. Any help would be awesome.

Thanks!

EDIT: Well nevermind the above. Decided to try again, and using the guide on LifeHacker http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...start-to-finish I was able to get it running. Now I just need to get my DSDT right so that my graphics will work properly.
