Hi,

I've recently installed 10.5.8 from ideneb v1.6 10.5.8 lite edition and it worked flawlessly except for 1 thing.

I bought the DC-FW800 PCIe 3-Port IEEE 1394b FireWire™ 800 PCI-Express Controller (http://www.dawicontrol.com/flyer/dc-fw800pcie.pdf) (http://www.dawicontrol.com/index.php?cmd=proddet&id=media) 2nd card from the top.

As fas as i can see the card is recognised correctly but i am unable to run my RME fireface 800 @ 800(sound card). It works perfectly fine @ 400 however.

My spec is as follows :

Asus P5Q3 patched with 0707 hacked bios (http://depositfiles.com/en/files/omy5ctdkv) from this thread (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=136586)

I've also tried using 0609 bios (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=44115) with no results

Interl Quad Core Q9550

OCZ 4x2bg 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 ram

300bg Western Digital Velociraptor 10000rpm 16mb cache HD Sata2

Nvidia Asus 9400gt

LG Sata2 Dvd-recorder

RME Fireface 800 sound card

DC-FW800 PCIe (Texas instruments)

Like i mentioned 10.5.8 installed perfectly,no kernel panics no errors whatsoever.

The only "glitch" is that my sound card does not work @ 800.

Any thoughts on how i could perhaps get it to work as intended?

Thanks in advance, feel free to reply with ANY advice/ideas/comments.

I seem to be having a similar issue.

Updated to iDeneb 10.5.8 and now one of my Firewire 800 hard drives doesn't mount.

(What is strange is that I have a G-Tech Firewire 800 drive that does mount. Must have something to do with the chipsets the drives use.)

I still have a copy of my 10.5.6 system, and I booted into that and it recognized and mounted my FW800 drive.

I'm assuming iDeneb 10.5.8 has a kext or something that isn't quite working with the FW800 drive. Does anyone know where I should look, or what file I should consider replacing to get my FW800 ports to work correctly again?

Thanks
