Walgus
Hey, Im trying to install snow leopard 10a432 on an EP45-UD3P following the USB install method posted on lifehacker site, but somehow i can't get the welcome screen (language selection). Im kind of running out of ideas now that i've been trying it for almost 2.5 weeks now, researching a lot i couldn't get a solution yet. Sort of tired by now, rebooting and trying things more than ten times a day Apparently the problem lies within graphics card driver. As you may have read in the title, im using a Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 512MB on GFX strings (boot.plist) + evoenabler.kext from here What i have done: * DSDT.aml built and working on this board (bios reset patch applied, sound/ethernet working flawlessly, currently using it on Leopard 10.5.8). * UUID string applied to PlatformUUID.kext, com.apple.Boot.plist, smbios.plist. * Customized com.apple.Boot.plist, device string node contains the HD4870 GFX and ethernet built in fix (currently working on Leopard 10.5.8 too). * Chameleon RC1 + PC EFI v10.3 boot loader. The USB's /Extra directory is structured as follows: The evoenabler.kext fixes the garbled screen issue i get when the install tries to switch into the GUI mode. Although, it fixes that.. i immediately get a grey screen with a moveable mouse cursor and stays in that phase forever, followed by an spinning mouse cursor after a few seconds. Pretty sure nothing else comes out (have waited almost an hour seeing if i get the language selection screen). Here i've made a video of it using my cellphone, booting using the combinations of -v -x32 arch=i86 -f -x (tried pretty much every combination i can think of, every combo ends up with a blue screen immediately followed by the grey screen seeing in the video). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crDUxhHoW_Y Any idea or hint would be appreciated.
