I installed iWork '09 and entered my serial number. Next time I tried to start Pages or Numbers I got an error message saying there are files missing and that I have to reinstall iWork. I did, but still got the same message. Tried repairing permissions, removing everything iWork related, and reinstalling, but it just won't work.

Pacifist - when I try to launch this (tried two different versions) it says the application bundle has been changed and that I have to get the original program. Huh?

Found this fix for Pacifist....

(take no credit for it or responsibility)

It's apparently a UUID issue...

fix pacifist....

1. Install Pacifist.

2. use a utility to show hidden files.

3. Navigate to: /usr/bin/update_dyld_shared_cache

4. RIGHT CLICK on: update_dyld_shared_cache, select MAKE ALIAS

5. now you should have an item named "update_dyld_shared_cache alias"

6. RIGHT CLICK "update_dyld_shared_cache alias" and select GET INFO

7. in the NAME box type: update_prebinding

8. open pacifist.....

Just installed Snow Leopard and was gonna check out the disk with Pacifist and no go. Found your fix and it worked like a charm.

Alternatively use the terminal and at the command prompt in /usr/bin:

cp update_dyld_shared_cache update_prebinding

Worked like a charm, THANKS!!

well, just do the following, it's very easy... even easier than the ones proposed obove:

1) open Terminal

2) do a "sudo -s" and put pass

3) do a "ln -s /usr/bin/update_dyld_shared_cache /usr/bin/update_prebinding"

bye.
