I dont know will works for you...

Here is my edited applehda snow leopard x64 for alc888

works best to me in Gigabyte P31-ds3l

AppleHDA.kext.zip

I'm using this kext in SL and loading it from a USB stick with Chameleon 2.0 RC3 (in Extra/Extensions.mkext). Everything is working, even optical out. However, it's not passing DTS through my speakers. I've read that the best way to enable this is using MadTux's guide but after reading it, I'm left a bit perplexed on what I'm looking for. Can someone please point me in the right direction to get DTS/surround passthrough working on Optical? Thank you!

You need to edit the binary in AppleHDA.kext (right click, show package contents, find AppleHDA binary, open with HexEdit)

You need to replace hex values 8508EC10 with 8808EC10. This enables AC3 and DTS pass-through. I think the SL binary has four instances.
