verdant
hello to all i have a problem installing iatkos v7 the installation ends normally but after i choose reboot, another screen appears and keeps waiting until appears an error a kernel panic (i think) my machine is Board: K9A2 Platinum NB 790FX SB 600 Proc: AMD PhenomII 720 B.E. @ 3.0 Ghz With Xigmatek Dark Knight Cooler Mem: GSKILL DDR2 1066 @ 1066 4Gb (2X2Gb) Lat 5-5-5-15 Vcard: MSI GTX260 OC Core 216 896Mb GDDR3 HDD1: Seagate Barracuda 500Gb 32Mb Cache SATA2 HDD2: Hitachi 500Gb 16Mb Cache SATA2 DVD: Samsung DVD burner SH-S233 SATA2 PSU: HEC Zephyr 750W I Tried With Ideneb and with Iatkos v7 in the instalation i chosed only 1 bootloader and with every kernel one by one (never both of them) and the necesary drivers or what distribution do you recommend with my hardware? Thanks for the help P: i reboot the system after that, and the bootloader apperas and i can choose the OS, i choose mac, and begins the charge after a minutes, starts a annoying sound and don't stops untill i reboot, starting with -v appears this: VoodooHDADevice[0x7227800]perform power state change(2,1) ahd it freezes here with the sound iATKOS v7 installs the 10.5.7 vanilla (i.e. Apple kernel) which you cannot run on a AMD CPU......you need to choose either Voodoo 9.5.0 (more compatible) or Voodoo 9.7.0 (support for Intel i7) under kernels in the Customize menu.....AND you also need to set up your BIOS correctly.... no-execute page-protection (NX) [Enabled] ACPI APIC Support [Enabled] ACPI Suspend Mode [s3] or [s1] or [s1 and S3] Configure SATA as "AHCI" or Serial-ATA Configuration [Enabled] If you do not have no-execute page-protection (NX), then look for XD or Execute Disable Bit.....whichever it is, it should be enabled......also, if present as this, CPU Internal Thermal Control [AUTO] Limit CPUID MaxVal [DISABLED] Enhanced C1 (C1E) [DISABLED] or similar, and initially install without a video driver....... So, in Customize choose: iATKOS v7 Main System Bootloader: Chameleon v2 Be aware while Chameleon 2.0 can hardcode the SMBIOS information for your system, when you do not select an AppleSMBIOS option, it will set MacPro4,1 as the default on desktop PCs and this will apparently result in a kernel panic due to the TyMCE kext BUT be sure to install it again before updating to 10.5.8 or you will get a kernel panic after the update. X86 Patches: /Extra Directory DSDT ( Only select it if you have to use the cpus=1 flag to boot the OS X Install DVD or the HDD OS X system) Decrypters: Apple Decrypt (ESSENTIAL) SMBIOS drivers: Try SMBIOS' for X86: Try AppleSMBIOS-28 (or AppleSMBIOS netkas), or one of the AppleSMBIO enablers.... Kernel: 9.7.0 Voodoo Kernel (but if you have problems then use the official 9.5.0 Voodoo kernel plus the 10.5.5 seatbelt.kext (9.5.0 version)) ACPI: Initially try without......if you have problems try e.g. x86 ACPI Disabler OHR Drivers: VGA: Enablers : Initially none.....then try nVidia GT200 System: SATA/IDE ATI SATA/IDE USB Sound: Voodoo HDA driver PS/2: Voodoo PS/2 You may select Voodoo PS/2 which works for all and apparently allows USB-PS/2 mouse/keyboard combinations to work. Voodoo PS/2 with trackpad is an alternative choice for laptops but it fails on some laptops and cause freezes. The Apple PS/2 driver is an old driver that you will need to choose when using x86 modified ACPI drivers BUT by choosing Apple PS/2, the both mouse and keyboard should be PS/2 devices connected to PS/2 ports AFAIK..... NTFS-3G (to read/write NTFS partitions) Post-Install Actions Post-Install Actions is not required if and when you use the iATKOS v7 DVD to re-install a driver.....
