I'm in the middle of important work though, so I just can't risk my rig right now Maybe we'll se the updated nVidia drivers that came with the GTX285 card? NaplesBill
Well, it worked for me. I did have to reinstall my PS2 and Audio kexts though. This meant using a USB keyboard after the second boot. As previously mentioned (and just like the 10.5.7 update) OSX rebooted during the first boot post update.

macita
ALWAYS USE COMBO...ALWAYS!!!
pirloui
Why always combo? Also: one need to run a script to deactivate powermanagement something right? (Chameleon EFI Vanilla 10.5.7 on Gigabyte)
maya77
I've used standard update (10.5.7 to 10.5.8). No need for Combo to go one version up.
thewritten
10.5.7 to 10.5.8, straight from Software Update. Rebooted twice like it's suppose to, works perfectly fine. Chameleon + Vanilla, Dell Vostro 220s
Mac_Dude
I did Software Update , no combo. I have a carbon clone copy of My System on an ext. HD , for testing.
NaplesBill
Did you update via Software Update or Combo? I did standard update. I expected these two kext issues because I had them with 10.5.7 as well. Very easy fix and no need to look for the combo update.
nerdalertdk
just updatede to 10.5.8 all still works, check signatur for hardware
Beaubarre
Why always combo? Perhaps because you can update in a controlled environment in case something goes wrong - and look into the package to see the kexts updated ? In my case I'm still in 10.5.1 from iAtkos 1.0ir2 on two laptops with Voodoo 9.5.0., it's the only distribution which never gives me a kernel panic (even for 6 months, not even once).
