I resently got a Gateway 500X (hand-me down) and want to get os X on it. It's the standard config (I atached It on the bottom) except for the GPU, I swapped the stock one for a Geforce 6200 512mb (http://microcenter.com/single_product_resu...duct_id=0305902). I'm planning on adding some ram latter, so it will run reasonably, meanwhile I'll put up with the drag.

OS X system profiler says I have a "Yorktown rface" (as the machine model). The hdd is ATA, I would like to do a dual boot (mac windows) and if I get a bigger hdd linux too, but ill leave that out for the moment.

Need more info then what your supplying. Run it with -v whats the last command it gives.

Thanks for the response. I didn't copy it textually, but it was something like "waiting for..." Ill run it again and copy it down (after I do one more unsuccessful try at re-installing)

Just one question: can't I configure the install EXACTLY like the boot DVD and thats the end of that? Because the DVD work perfectly.

WTF!! I booted normally, bad boot (but a different problem). Booted in verbose and... Booted fine!. Wierd thing...

I expect next boot to crash or something, but I'll keep my fingers crossed..

Thanks anyways, I'll report back if I have any trouble.
