Dickyc1981
Hi guys, I have got my OSX 86 box working but i have a couple of problem (Maybe serious!) Firstly, i have got my HP D530 working with a 10GB Quantum Fireball HDD and seems to work ok. When i try and install using a 40GB Seagate or a 40GB Maxtor i get the error below. After the install is complete the system reboots and the grey apple screen appears after a few minutes i get a crossed out circle appear over the apple logo. If i boot using -v as an option i constantly get 'Waiting for Root'. The settings on both drives are the same. My second problem is that the system profiler reports that my CPU is 3.2Ghz Unknown. The actual processor is a 2.8Ghz P4. Im not overly worried if this is only cosmetic, my worry is that after about 10 mins i start to get the apple needs to restart, press and hold the power button screen. After a couple of reboots and this screen becoming more frequent the system wont start at all. I left the machine a couple of hours and now it reboots. I guess that i am unintentionally overclocking the CPU and thhe processor is frying and causing the system to crash. Hopefully someone can help!!!!!!! Thanks in advance! Rich.
