nickb827
I have a ASUS M4A78-E mobo, a Raedon 4350 GFX card, and an AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition processor. When I try to install (using -v -x), I get a weird error message, which I took a picture of. Can anyone help me? I haven't been around the OSx86 scene for a couple of years, and I'm kind of lost. nickb827
I tried to install with iDENEB 10.5.5 while in -v mode, and the screen says "USBF: 6.172 AppleUSBOHCLO[0x3be70000]::CheckSleepCompatablity - OHCI controller will be unloaded across sleep", and then it says "Still waiting for root device" indefinately. What can I do? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175956-help-installing-ideneb-on-amd-board/#findComment-1208242 Share on other sites

Ugh. What can I do? Ok. I just realized that those instructions are for a different motherboard. I have the M4A78-e, not the M4A78 Pro. They have different North and South Bridges. I have the 790gx North, and a SB750 south. EDIT: I GOT IT TO INSTALL! I don't really know what I did, but it installed. However, now I'm stuck on the boot. When I try to boot it, it says "boot0: MBR boot0: done Non-system disk Press any key to reboot". What do I have to do? Amacx86
So does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks! In my experience, iDeneb doesn't do well with IDE hardware. I've never successfully gotten it to boot from an IDE optical drive, or install to an IDE hard disk. I'd try booting from an external USB optical drive and installing to an external USB hard disk. This takes those issues out of the equation and will let you know how compatible the rest of your hardware is with this package. Alternatively, give Lawless's AMD package a try (yes, it's only 10.5.4...) nickb827
I just booted up with an Ubuntu liveCD, and used the partition manager to change the flag on my main partition to 'boot'. However, I keep getting an error that says that my Real Time Clock was not properly initialized. I searched the forums and haven't found any real fixes nor problems with it. Has anyone else had this problem or know about it? EDIT: I took a picture of the screen that it gives me. Anyone know what the problem is?
