denwo
Hey Guys Just letting you know of my successfully hackintosh build! Since this was my first ever build, i’ve had to do a lot of reading over the past two days or so. I decided to write this to help someone else who may have a similar build to me. - Here is my system build using ‘IAtkos V7’+ + ANTEC 900 Casing + 1000 watt PSU Energy Saver + Q6600 Quad Core + Zalman Cooler + Gigabyte HD4850 1GB + Gigabyte EP45-DS4P + 8GB of DDR2 Kingston RAM + DLINK DWA 547 (Wireless N PCI Card) + SATA 500gb WD 7200rpm + SATA 750gb SG 5000rpm + SATA DVD RW+DL + G15/G9 K/B + Mouse At the moment everything works ALMOST perfect, just two things left on my list (hopefully Snow Leopard fixes this!) are the ‘sleep’ (EP45-DS4P) and ‘dual DVI’ screen output from my GB HD4850. They are very minor but I’d like to take full advantage of my other 22” LCD. The sleep function is great, but booting up is very quick anyway! - Couple of things you need before you proceed: + IAtkos V7 + ACL889a (Audio Driver) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=31100 + LSAv17 http://redirectingat.com/?id=292X457&u.../%3Fijq5m0mvzmm + ATI HD 4850 patches ‘Natit for Quail’ http://rapidshare.de/files/47140380/Natit.pkg.html and ‘Natit driver kext’ http://rapidshare.de/files/47140358/Natit.pkg.html - Basically Natit for Quail fixes that blue screen for me on boot and the driver gives me my full QE/CI support - Here are the steps I used (CLEAN INSTALL) 1. Mainly a default install of Iatkos v7 - The only thing I checked extra was AHCI and INTEL/SATA support. Another thing I would remove also is the VOODOO HDA (Audio) kext (driver), you don’t need it plus I found it interrupted my sound later with the ‘Realtek ALC889a’ kext (I ended up deleting Voodoo HDA after install.) 2. After a successful install boot into your hackintosh at the prompt with ‘-v -x’ boot flags. Register, setup your account etc. 3. By now hopefully you can see your desktop, install ‘Natit for Quail’ first then install ‘Natit driver kext’ afterwards. 4. Install your ACL889a audio driver 5. I didn’t install anything in the LSAv17 pack except for two things as everything was already working, I installed ‘Realtek 1000’ + ‘OpenHaltRestart’. 6. Reboot with -v to check if anything goes wrong, if not congrats on your new hackintosh! - Conclusion It’s great having it! It’s working now but I wish i had that dual screens support with GB HD4850! Oh yeah the wireless worked without any additional kexts so I was very pleased with that. Another strange thing I read alot of the guides to EP45-DS4P told me to turn on AHCI Enabled and Native Sata mode in my bios, i infact left them disabled, if you find your getting 'Waiting for boot volume with UUID' or 'Waiting for root disk' try disabling those options - worked for me! Good luck ^^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173938-guide-successful-hackintosh-build-ep45-ds4p-gb-hd4850/ Share on other sites
