Guys i wanna build a hackintosh but not sure what hardware to use and how to find it as well i had this set up mapped out:

 

Hackintosh Set up and Pricing:

 

MoBo: ASUS P5W DH DELUXE Motherboard 775 WIFI AP Intel 975X - 80.00

 

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale 2.8GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80571E7400 - Retail - 120.00

 

RAM: OCZ Platinum Edition 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Quad Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2P8008GQ - Retail - 100.00

 

Video : HAVE

 

HDD: HITACHI 0A38016 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM - 80.00

 

Flash drive: CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB Flash Drive (USB 2.0 Portable) Model CMFUSB2.0-16GB - Retail -40.00

 

Total: 420.00

 

 

..... however i cannot find the mobo anywhere and i cant ebay cause paypal anf me dont get along. what are the set ups you guys are using out there. i am looking to do heavy final cut and after effects and Avid on this machinp... in short lil help?

so can i pretty much use any dual or quad core intel chip?

 

also what is the easiest and most reliable mobo to use quad on and 8gb of ram

intel chips are the best solution. Core 2 duo and quad no problem. The asus motherboards need a bios mod to get all the cores working correctly if I understand correctly. The gigabyte boards are more popular at this point. If you look on the wiki you can see the boards that work.

i herd that the asus was the easiest.... does anyone know a sure fire easy mobo

I am using a Gigbayte EP-43 DS3l, which is fully functional, with Sleep and everything. The EP-45's are also fully compatible.

also if anyone knows where i can buy this in the US or at least north america would be cool... all of these mobos i find i either ebay or australlian
