Hi,

I really really need help, I'm not a MAC expert but i guess the solution is easy :angry2:

I have HP DV2500 laptop intel based processor. I installed iATKOS 5i ( leopard 10.5.5 ) and all worked fine, USB works ok and any external HD or even my iPhone are detected automatically.

Recenlty I removed it and installed cleanly iATKOS 7i ( leopard 10.5.7 ) with the USB support and CARDBUS support options enabled in installer and now, I cannot make the USB work ! When I plug my iphone or HDD in the USB.

I can see the device name in the system hardware profile but they don't actually mount. I found some patches on the net but tried no use !

Then I downloaded the latest itunes 8.2 and i know that itunes comes with USB enabler, After I installed it, all started to work fine !! great ! my problem is solved

BUT

Everytime I logoff or restart, my USB devices stop mounting again ! so I re-install itunes ( AGAIN ) and so on !!

Any idea how to keep the itunes usb driver working and can mount the USB devices after logoff or restart ???

PLZ HELP ! I'm a Windower and want to set my self freeeeeeeeeeeee !!!

Hi there have you tried removing the AppleHPET.kext? from system / library / extensions, I had a USB problem on my desktop and removing this kext made all my USB ports active and were seen as USB2.0 ports with 480mbs transfer speeds, if you are scared to completely remove this kext just put it in the trash and restart your pc then I hope it works for you, cheers mate, Plucka

I have the same issue with iPC 10.5.6. After iTunes installed I could connect my Bluetooth dongle but not my iPhone... Now, when I connect one of them nothing happens, it's like the system is ignoring'em. I tried to install patches, but with no luck, i tried to delete AppleHPET, again no luck. I don't know what else to do, can someone tell us?

I tried to connect my external USB HD while the laptop is off and then start it up and MAC OS detects it. it seems it only mounts either on boot or after re-installing the itunes driver
