i have an idea to get it working, as i have done it to run other programs in which i havent had the correct version. Right click (control click) on the app and press show contents (or something like that, i've booted in windows at the moment, so i cant tell you exactly). Anyway, after doing this, open info.plist with textedit. Find where it says what version of operating system required, and change it to suit you. Save. The run the program. Hopefully that will work.

If you cant even install it, you may need to edit the .pkg file, deleting some -----check files and edit some parts.

Let me know how you go

i cant even open or mount the dmg file, it just gives me an error. its not hte programs in ilife that wont work but rather its the install file that wont open

i tried copying the garageband loops and app support files from a friends computer as well as teh app itself but when i tried to run garageband it just got stuck on initializing

according to the torrent sites, its the correct size. im wondering if its because im using 10.4.1 that im having trouble with certain things such as quark 7 beta, mobilepre usb and now ilife the problem is im at school for another 2 weeks and they block torrents on campus so i could never get an updated image file to get to 10.4.5 or 6

there is a little trick i used once, i had a currupt .dmg file, i was just stuffing around with it, quite frustrated actually, but i renamed the file so it believed itself to be a .app file (in the get info screen) then i dragged this file into stuffit expander, and it created me a new .dmg file, which worked perfectly... Not sure if it will work for you... but if it does dont ask me why or how it worked because i honestly dont know. ....strange... but yeh, give it a go

if you try to move a .dmg file on an NTFS partition, it causes .dmg corruption which is usually the cause of mounting errors (its happened to me). i would recommend trying to zip the file in windows and then transferring it to your mac partition although there is no guarantee that it will fix the problem. Whenever you try to transfer a .dmg from one location to another on an NTFS (or from NTFS partition 1 -> NTFS partition 2) you have to zip or archive the file in some way. Hope it helps :D

P.S.: From what I know, 10.4.1's support for unibin is lousy so either change the system version in SystemVerison.plist (/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/SystemVersion.plist) or upgrade to a newer version.

Even if you did get the installer to run, iLife needs a kernel from 10.4.3 or later. Back when people were only able to run 10.4.1 (before Maxxuss), people were coming up with ways of running programs compiled for 10.4.2. By the time apps began to be compiled for 10.4.3 only, Maxxuss had showed up and... well. The rest is history.

In laymen's terms: Unless you want to create your own hybrid kernel, you need to upgrade! 10.4.1 won't cut it.
