tcorbyn
Hi all, Currently I build PCs for for friends and family but never before have I built a PC as a Mac before. I am semi-familiar with Leopard OS because I used to have a MacBook but never did much with it, so I sold it. Recently a friend asked me if I could build him a computer. The only problem is that he works only with Macs so I told him I would do some reserch into weather it is possible to do for him. I heard about installing Leopard on PC hardware because I used to live with someone who was into that. The problem is he is now gone and not coming back so I will need to go about it alone. The hardware I intend to install it on is the following: CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3GHZ Motherboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe Memory: 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Graphics card: Ati Radeon X1950 Pro Hard Disk: 1000GB Western Digital Optical Drive: Pioneer DVD/CD RW Now, is all the above hardware compatable? If I do manage to do this will it work entierly as a Mac should or will there still be some bugs that indicate its actually a PC not a Mac? Cheers, any help or advice will be very much apprichiated! abhi93
The hardware seems fine to me. Just look around for more info (drivers, etc.). It'd work entirely as a mac once set-up and until any unsuccessful software updates, but for a real mac experience, you need a real mac. tcorbyn
What do you mean by "unsuccessful software updates"? Does that mean that it wont update? abhi93
Unsuccessful software updates are updates that become a pain due to different kext requirements. Mostly, it should be fine but sometimes they can go very wrong. I installed the following version: iATKOS 5i. For some reason the computer will not boot into leopard OS, it just goes back to the installer. Installation went fine the first time. Help please!
