Hi,

Yesterday I've reinstalled the iPC 10.5.6 MacOS X Version which is said to be one of the best versions especially due to its compatibility. Unfortunately it doesn't work as it seemed at first. Because booting is still problematic similar to other MacOS versions I've tried. Sometimes it starts without problems but sometimes it stops booting suddenly when the Apple screen (Apple with a rotating circle, although you won't get the rotating circle if the system does not start) with its rotating circle appears for the first time. In this case you can just turn off the computer. Meanwhile I've tried several solutions but no one worked so please help me. This problem is really troublesome and I've got absolutely no idea how to solve it. PLEASE help me!

My Specifications:

Installed OS: iPC MacOS X 10.5.6 Beta Final including PPF 1 & PPF2

Notebook: Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V6505

Chipset: Intel GM45

Harddisk: WDC WD1600BEVT-22ZCT0 (SATA)

IDE/ATA-Controller: Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller

WLAN: Atheros 5007EG

Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

Hi cogombo,

thanks for your fast reply, but I've already tried your recommendation without success. Whenever I try to boot the iPC Version which includes all PPF Packages, the boot process stops suddenly. Then you can only turn off the machine. Although I tried it several times, I never saw the Setup screen of this iPC-Version.

By the way, the MacOS Versions I used before (XxX_10.4.11_Install_Disc_rev2.0 Intel SSE2, SSE3)(XxX MacOS X 10.5.6 Final), also had this problem.

MacOS X 10.4.11 stopped booting after displaying one of the following lines:

1.) waiting for boot with UUID .......... (several numbers and letters)

waiting on <dict ID="0"><key> IOProviderClass </key><string ID="1">........ (this message repeats itself similar to this line)

2.) TCR=..30000000

3.) ApplePS2Controller: Synaptics Touchpad 6.3

Greetings

A thing that I have learned: it's better to install a distro with the minimal drivers or patches possible and then install them one by one and cheking the computer's performance/issues than install it with too many options and drivers, all causing conflicts between them...

Other thing to consider is to look for a good kext/patch solution related about your actual OSX version. The kext/patch that worked quite well in your 10.5.2 system maybe doesn't work in your 10.5.7 update, for example...
