Hey all.

I recently purchased the parts to build my own computer, built it and tried installing Kalyway 10.5.2 and it gives me this

IOATAcontroller device blocking bus

applegenericpcatadriver:CMD 0x1Fo, CRT 0x3F4, IRQ 14

Stile waiting for boot device

I've tried googling those error codes and cant find much that seems to help me. I've tried booting with -v, -v -x, -F, -s, -x -y -v.... nothing seems to work.

-F successfully brings up the grey screen with the apple, but then just stops and the cd stops and it does nothing else from there.

all the other boot parameters just pull up various other errors.

I thought that maybe it may be some other hardware so I unplugged all the pci extensions, didn't help.

and then I started looking at the sata and tried plugging in an IDE drive and it doesn't seem to recognize it either.

I even tried 2 windows disks and both wouldn't work, then I tried slax 6 and it crashed in various stages of booting every time I tried.

The only OS of any kind/level I can get working is a live Gparted CD, and I made it 3 fat32 partitions.

only thing I can think of is its hardware or assembly (which I went by the instructions, did it carefully and had every thing grounded, so I don't think its as simple as I didn't plug some thing in)

Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated!!!

note my hardware is:

Biostar GF7100P-M7S nForce 630i Socket 775 mATX Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz

GeForce 8600GT 256MB PCI Express

1 TB SATA HD

DDR2 2GB * 2

note:

I am mostly a mac person so if you have a solution that requires mac software I'm all ears, just got this because I basically don't have enough money to get a mac pro.
