arthur.spooner
Hey guys, I need some help, because I am not that familiar with OS X. I have installed "MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL_AMD_SSE3_SSE2)", but after login I get some error messages: System extension cannot be used. The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product´s vendor for any update. The same with "AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext" and "ApplePS2Controller.kext" I worry about the last one, because this seems to be the reason why my keyboard and touchpad do not work. How can I reinstall this kext files? Is there a menu or can I find them on the DVD? arthur.spooner
OK, try to help myself. I have copied Maxuss patched ApplePS2Controller.kext for 10.4.3 and rebuild the disk permissions. Now keyboard works, but I still get some error messages about the PS2Controller after login. Touchpad is not working. Still need some help. tommie
try searching this form there are several threads about this problem, i got my trackpad working with unloading the appleps2controller.kext and after that loading it again. it must be somewhere around here on the forum, i dont know the exact commands anymore... also try deleting the files extensions.kextcache and extensions.mkext in the /system/library folder and after delete rebuilding the permissions. good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16351-keyboard-does-not-work/#findComment-105484 Share on other sites
