ksudeadeye
Hey All: I've got a Core2 workstation based on an Asus P5B-E mobo running Vista on an internal hard drive (HD). I've got an external USB 320GB HD I'd like to use for a Hackintosh install. Here's the jist of what I've done so far: 1) Booted Kalyway 10.5.2 and partitioned the external drive three ways: a: osx_kalyway (20GB GUID parition, Mac Journaled Ext) b: osx_retail (240GB GUID partition, Mac Journaled Ext) c: osx_backup (60GB GUID partition, Mac Journaled Ext) 2) Installed Kalyway to the osx_kalyway partition 3) Booted into Kalyway fine (network, dual monitor, sound all working fine) 4) Mounted an OSX 10.5.2 retail ISO and installed to the osx_retail partition 5) Installed OSX 10.5.6 Combo update to osx_retail 6) Downloaded and installed Chameleon 2.0RC1 to osx_retail 7) Rebooted the machine, but it goes right back into Kalyway I'd like to know how to select the primary boot partition on a drive with multiple GUID partitions, if it's even possible. I've got experience using several disk utilities (GParted, Partition Magic, etc) and several bootloaders (Acronis, grub, etc), but I have very little experience with Macs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks very much. -ksudeadeye Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/162470-kalyway-osx-retail-chameleon-selecting-a-boot-partition/ Share on other sites

ksudeadeye
Are you pressing any key to halt Chameleon bootup countdown and bring up the list of bootable volumes.......? I never see Chameleon's countdown. After my BIOS has loaded I get a blinking cursor in the upper left corner for several seconds followed by the Darwin/x86 load screen (which installs with Kalyway I think). Then Kalyway boots by default.
