Draconian Paladin
Greeting, everyone! I had finally manage to get online using ethernet on my Asus F3s notebook, with Leopard 10.5.6 installed. However, I soon realised how the experience turn nasty. For some reason, I can't seems to scroll from top to bottom, no matter how I try. I had tried using mouse wheel scroll, directional keys and even clicking on the bar or clicking up/down button below the bar. Everytime, I scroll, certain portion of the text from top portion refuse to move, while the lower portion move up. This result in both the text "crash" and some portion of the text missing. For example, when I scroll down, at the bottom most portion of the screen, I can see it move up and read new line, one line at a time, but the above portion doesn't change. I am not sure if you understand me, but I hope someone does. This problem happen within the OS itself as I run into this problem in System Profiler and Safari, among other places. Oddly enough, InsanelyMac forum are not affected and I can scroll here without problem, the lofi version of this forum does not work, though. Second problem I have is regarding my laptop's keyboard. It wasn't working, and I search for kext for sometimes, tried a few of them too. Someone gave me a version that finally work, but today, I decided to fix the clock problem with dual booting setup. Upon the fix, the kext seems to be broken. I install again using the kext that was given to me, but it no longer work. I hope someone can point me in right direction on how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance for reading. regards, Draconian Paladin. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/162048-some-problems/ Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
The scrolling 'eating' text happens when your video hardware isn't correctly installed. For your keyboard, try VoodooPS2Controller.kext http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=161496 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/162048-some-problems/#findComment-1132568 Share on other sites
Draconian Paladin
Thank you so much. I got NVidia Geforce 8600m GS, but using Universal OSX86 Installer, I apply the EFI String to GT instead. However, it work fine, so I am not complaining on that one. The Voodoo driver for the PS2, however, work in a weird fashion. At first, it doesn't work. Then, as I startup my machine, without doing anything to it, it work for a short time. After I reboot for the graphic card to take effect, it didn't work again. I am puzzled as to why sometime it work, sometime it don't. It's same as reboot/shut down. Sometime it work smoothly, sometime it don't.
