I finally got it up and running, all hardware working fine, except my Liteon SATA DVD burner. Had to install the ALC888 kext to get sound working, but it works.

My hard drives are SATA, and they show up just fine. I am dual booting Windows XP and this iDeneb 10.5.6. During install I chose the newest kext that said it supported ICH8/9/10. Bios is flashed to the custom 2.00 version. My SATA controller is set as IDE for Windows XP compatibility.

Any idea why my burner would not show? My other ATAPI DVDRom shows up fine.

I have the same problem.

I was running 10.5.2, and the DVD worked perfect. Wiped drive and installed iDeneb 10.5.6. It's just a bog standard Sony SATA drive.

Stuff i chose in the customise were:

Chipset

-ICHx Fixed

-JMicron ATA

Audio

-ALC882

SMBIOS 800

Ethernet working with IONetworkingFamily.kext

Have P5W-DH deluxe board. Also bottom two USB ports not working and slow transfer rate on top two.

Any help for any of these would be greatly appreciated. Complete noob!

Try install this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=36067 with kexthelper (before installing backup and delete the original IOATAFamily.kext in /System/Library/Extensions) and reboot with -v -f

I have the same problem.

System Profiler of my iDeneb 10.5.6 on the voice "burner driver" (i think this is the voice for DVD-RW, I running the OSX in Italian language) there isn't my Pioneer DVD-RW 216 sata.

My controller ICH9R was recognized in ICH8R.

I have tested the solution posted by Giorgio (Ciao Giorgio!!! :) ) but nothing is changed.

EDIT: Sorry boys! I'm a stupid. My DVD wasn't connected to the Intel controller, but to the second controller of my Gigabyte motherboard... ;)

I had the same problem with my IDE DVD Drive, and this solution worked perfectly.

Thanks a lot ;)
