smallsammy
Hi there, I am running Kalyway 10.5.2 on a machine with the following specs Asus p5VD2-VM, Intel Dual Core E2160, 2GB RAM and GeForce 8500GT graphics card. The system overall runs smoothly, devices are recognized but it will crash randomly. For example I may be working for like 1 hour or 10 minutes and a simple action will render the system unresponsive. It can be anything from opening a finder window, browsing for an image file in SimplyBurns, launching Firefox, scrolling in iTunes library... What will happen is the colored circle will appear, like doing smthg in the background, but it will stay forever.. Shortcut to Force Quit will not work and if I click/right click anything in the Dock, the dock will crash too (will stay magnified and render unresponsive) and the only way to overcome this is a hard reboot.... Any clues on what to look to at least get an idea what is causing this will be very helpful.. (log files etc) Also randomly my network connection will drop.. Sometimes it will happen when I download files at high speed, other times when doing simple web browsing) At first I thought it could be an issue of the onboard card/kext combination so I added a second one ( an old 3com..cant remember exact model, but got recognized at once by the system), but same thing happens with both the cards... Also the only way to restore network when connection drops, is a reboot... Any help appreciated. Thank you.
