HP dv4000 issue

I've recently installed leopard using an iDeneb 1.3 disc, and the installation went through fine but when I try to boot it hangs at the same point and reboots every time.

The line that it hangs on is RTL8139 fix enet flowcontr flow control is disabled, then it says syncing all discs, killing processes, continuing and a reboot.

I've tried using a variety of the fixes/patches on the disc(as well as no patches/fixes) and I always end up with the same result.

I don't really care if the onboard LAN works, since it is a laptop and I don't have network cable strung about everywhere so disabling it is definitely an option if that will fix it. I'm just not sure of how to do that when I can't get the OS to boot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
